Product Review: Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner

Ok, so if you have googled "Reviews of Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner" I am sure you will find videos and posts raving about how they LOVE THIS STUFF! and honestly, I am not going to be different from the rest, I LOOOVVVVEEEE THIS STUFF. It is such a hair saver since I started swimming weekly again. Usually I have my hair really moisturized when I am rocking twists, twist-outs, wash n gos, etc, but as soon as I jump in that pool, wash my hair with a shampoo to remove the Chlorine (usually something with Phytic Acid or EDTA - find out more here), use a deep conditioner or just a regular conditioner, my hair is just lifeless and dull. You would think a good conditioner could replenish all the lost moisturizing agents you applied throughout the week but if they were not washed out in the pool they probably were washed out with the shampoo. So I decided to get a Leave-in Conditioner.

I am always wary about Leave-ins because I know many regular and deep conditioners can be substituted for Leave-ins - probably because the ones I like to use are mostly natural ingredients so it's totally okay if you let it sit on your hair for more than 30 minutes. I was drawn to Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner because I like how it could be used as a detangler and a way to refresh hair that starts to get dry - sort of a lighter form of a moisturizer.

The consistency of the product is in between a creamy and a watery type substance. It is clear and has a slight thickness to it so it won't fall through you fingers as you are applying it to your hair. I usually put it on right after I have shampooed and conditioned my hair after swimming in order to avoid my hair becoming supremely stiff and straw-like when it dries. My hair absorbs the product nicely leaving no residue. I like it better to apply this and a sealant post swimming, than a creamy moisturizer and sealant because when my hair dries it feels stiff with a slight moisturizer residue - like the moisturizer has not completely absorbed. So the absorbency of Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner is the real winner for me especially when I am trying to put some bounce and softness back into my twists that have been sapped dry of any moisture from the pool and shampooing.

I have to say I am becoming a big fan of Karen's Body Beautiful Products. I find a lot of curly hair line products sometimes work better for some hair types more than others, but I find Karen's Body Beautiful to be suitable for my dry, 4b/4a, fine type hair. I was also a fan of her Hair Blossom Moisture Mist, which produced the same results as the leave-in conditioner - it was not too heavy for my fine hair strands but provided enough moisture to penetrate the hair and not leave a residue. The texture and consistency of the products are also a nice balance between watery and creamy which I also find complimentary to my hair type.
