freetress Bohemian Crochet Braids
What's great about using these vibrant, wonderful colors in crochet braids is that you don't have to worry about damaging your hair and body with harmful chemicals to get that color you want.
Like with all crochet braids that are different color, it takes sometime for me to get used to it and by day 2, I am in love with it! Mostly because it so different and new, I really learn to embrace it.
I really went out of my comfort zone when I pursued the idea of getting Freetress Braid Bohemian Braiding Hair with some type of color other than black or brown highlights in it to crochet into my hair. I went even more out of my comfort zone when (by mistake) my part was straight down the middle of my head instead of my traditional side part (I think it just suits the shape of my face).
PhiPhi216 who coincidentally happens to be my younger sister (hence I have the utmost influence and sometimes persuasive powers over her *wink*) broke out of her usual style - the press and curl (for her actress-on-call-lifestyle) to try a new protective style while we are out vacationing in the Caribbean for 10 days.
So I have been wearing Crochet / Latch Hook Braids for almost a month now and I have to say the benefits definitely outweigh the annoyances that come with wearing this protective style.
I said I wanted it and as soon as your know it I got it! I originally planned to get Crochet Braids (latch hook, tree braids, etc) done by a professional, like Dr. Kari over at Mahogany Hair Revolution Salon in Beverly Hills.

So I thought Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finishing Lotion would be the end all and be all for all my crochet braids maintenance woes but my good friend who I got hooked on crochet braids introduced me to a great product that is saving my life with this hair!!
So I went 12 days past the month long deadline I had for the Long Freetress Deep Twist Crochet Braids. And here is why...
As I said before, about a week ago (Day 21), Long Freetress Deep Twist Crochet Braids are surprisingly low maintenance in comparison to the Freetress Bohemian Crochet Braids. It is almost confounding!
Long Freetress Deep Twist Crochet Braids are steadily becoming my favorite crochet style over the Bohemian hair look. It's not because the hair is long but because it is a lot easier to take care of in terms of maintenance (easier than bohemian crochet braids!!) and more fun to wear because you can rock a variety of styles unlike the shorter version of Bohemian crochet braid styles.
freetress gogo curl crochet braids
It has been about a month since I installed my #33 Freetress Gogo Curl crochet braids. I started off feeling uncomfortable with the color because it was the lightest I have ever gone but slowly I grew into it and everybody was commenting on the color.
Back at it again and getting in a regular routine with my crochet braid styles, I decided to try a new color this time around that is the 'boldest' I have ever attempted (yes a lighter brown is bold for me unlike my sister who fearlessly rocks blonde crochet braids). I was only able to find this color in this style at Divatress.com.
Ok so I lied. I can't help myself. Why did I think I was not going to try out these Freetress Gogo Curl crochet braids in some pool water? I mean I love swimming for one, but then again I really like experimenting with the life cycle of different crochet braids styles.
So it has been less than two weeks and I am loving my crochet braids style with the Freetress Gogo Curl! I'll be honest when I first installed it, I was kinda like this needs a few days of getting used to because it was reminding me of my lace front wig look and feeling a little synthetic/fake. I thought the problem was that it needed to be cut, layered and shaped because it was just not hanging right; but it turns out that reason for the 'offness' of it was because I had not put enough of the hair in it - especially in the back.

Sometimes, in the interest of time and resources (I was preparing for one of my flea markets and I didn't have the hair I wanted to use for this short doo) you make mistakes and fail miserably.
So much has been happening the past two months and I have so much to blog about, including my recent and newest installation of Freetress presto curl #33 crochet braids with bangs! (check out the video!)
This hair style has been a labor of love and transformational experience in many ways.
I have been loving (more than hating) this look for the past four weeks. I have also had ample time to experiment with a variety of styles, more than I can do with textured crochet braids.
So I'd thought with less than a month until synchro season starts and I am back in the water, I wanted to try a style I have been sooooo hesitant to try but I figured it's less than four weeks I would have to wear this so it can't be too bad.
